HOODOO FOR BEGINNERS CLASS

Let me break this Hoodoo history down from the beginning. Show you why you are Hoodoo and you can’t help it. I’ll be covering basic topics like where Hoodoo derived from, who it’s for and who it ain’t. Talk about how this baby was birthed and dive into what makes Hoodoo so Black. Of course we’ll get into the African traditions that survived enslavement and create Hoodoo. We’ll cover hot topics like “Is Hoodoo A Religion”, talk about Hoodoo up in the church, and Bible magick. We’ll be ending the class by making a classic Hoodoo remedy because Hoodoo is after all our African American Health Care System. If you are new to Hoodoo or just want to learn more about your roots this class is made for you.

Florida Water Making Class

In this class we’ll be going over the Hoodoo time line, discussing the evolution of Hoodoo and how it was stolen from and then sold back to us. Since we’ll be diving into the marketization of Hoodoo it’s only right that we make one of those famous Hoodoo formulas that is beloved by us but not made by us. We’ll be making our own homemade Florida Water from scratch.

Ancestor Altar Building & Veneration

This is an intro to ancestor veneration class where we’ll cover what it is decolonizing your perception of honoring those who have passed, how to recognize the altars all around you, and how to be more intentional about your own sacred spaces. I’ll talk about all of the earth elements needed to make an altar and the tools you’ll need to build your own. We’ll cover topics like how to give and dispose of offerings, when and how to add ancestor to the altar, and everything else you need to know to do this work.

THE BOOK CLUB

For the month of March we’ll be reading The Hoodoo Bible by Mama Marie. I want to get back to studying my craft so I figured I’d do it with YOU‼️ I’ve heard great things about this book so I’m excited to finally have a copy and to see what it’ll add to my spiritual bag. I’m sure there will be recipes and I can not wait to make them together.
